Kupfernams is located in the building which dates back to 1820, the building is located in the heart of the city of Ventspils. The building of the house was carried out by a German national – Aexander, the son of Theodor, Kupfer. This building holds historical evidence from the beginning of the 19th century till today. There has been a hotel on the second floor of the building already back in the days.
To honour the successful renovation of the building it was given European Heritage Award in 2007. The interior of the building was presented with the Award of the Architecture of Ventspils “Balta Duna” in 2005, the owner of the building was awarded with the special prize for the personal contribution in the renovation of the historical building. The guest house has taken award-winning places repeatedly in the competition organized by the city of Ventspils “Labakais izmitinasanas uznemums Ventspili”.
The doors of Kupfernams have been open to its’ guests since 2003.

The guest house is located in the centre of the historic construction of the city, 40 meters away from the main street of the city. There is a public transport stop is located only a minute long walk away from the guest house; it provides connection with the beach, Seaside Park, Aqua Park and other sightseeing objects. The distance to the intercity bus station is 400 meters, to the promenade and ferry terminal – 600 meters. The old town with Livonian Order castle, the observatory and the planetary, the City Hall Square, Writers’ House, The House of Crafts and the market is 5 minute walk away.
